22nd July 2013 to 28th July 2013: [Cut-It]

 

This year rains have come in abundance. Climate is very good, no, it is excellent for last 30 days. We have hardly seen the Sun, but it is kind enough to visit us in afternoon so that cloths can be dried. How do you measure the happiness derived from the falling rain droplets of cool water, early morning dew, gushing water falls and vast expanses of water bodies. Cleaning everything around you, giving life to dull trees and plants, shooting up grass and providing vast rolling hills covered with green carpet. Do we appreciate such blessing?

For last few years I have become very much disciplined, I sleep sharp at 10.00 – 10.15, wake up at 6.15 - 6.30, take dinner around 8.15. So much so that I get very sleepy, dot at 10.00 O’clock.

Effect of climate is such that I have noticed we are gossiping a lot late into night past 12.00, exchanging lot of views and experiences. We all belong to three namely (Sindhi-Punjabi-Gujrati) different but at the same time,similar type of life styles. So it is interesting to hear childhood stories of Muskan-Dhwani and share Akshay-Kashyap stories. What one would call as spending quality time.

On Saturday Mummy and her family had joint dinner at B-7 after brief interval. It was cozy, comfortable dinner of Bread Chole with super duper hit ‘falooda & rubbery’ by mummy. We are blessed that we get to eat such a mouth watering home-made sweet dishes. Maybe, what they say is correct. The added flavor of Love makes the difference. I must have hogged and had to stop, as Akshay & Myself finished off the last spoonful of ‘rubbery.’  Then Sharat presented the ‘Bali Trip’ Show. Digital world has made it easy to gather huge number of trip sights in your drawing room. Sharat told us few stories linked with those picture. Again I slept late.

Cut It Studio’s owner has taken this word ’Cut-it’ , literally. He is game for anything which needs cutting. Be it video clipping or our hair! I was his first client of the day. Cutting charges were, sponsorship of one movie ticket. Then Avi sat on the stool and got himself a nice clean cut, under the strict observation and guidance of Muskan and Dhwani.

15th July 2013 to 21th July 2013: [Kashyap’s official First Release]

 

Monday:  Lali & family have returned, happy with short trip to Bali. Good thing about family business is that, in an instant office can get converted into drawing room, all family members indulging into small talk, telling stories. Professionals will hate such set up, as this type of activity will hamper the growth and progress of business. I disagree with them. On this Monday morning, Lali told us all about his Bali trip, in simple words, it is Goa, more neat and disciplined. Work was put on the hold and we all, Akshay, Avi and Myself enjoyed gossiping and sharing of experience. It was half hour well spent, as it created a healthy, positive atmosphere. That is why I disagree with Professional.

 Thursday: ‘Ship of Thesues’. I hope spelling is right. This is first movie, released by Kiran Rao’s company, in which Kashyap’s name as assistant editor rolled out in credits! Kashyap was invited by Anand Gandhi, its director to attend special screen arranged for cast & crew. Anand lives in Rajawadi and made ‘Right Here, Right There’ a short film. Kashyap has edited his movie ‘Ship of Thesues’ small version (20 minutes) and a tailor, nearly two years back. It took so much time to find a financer for release of movie. It has three stories and has high philosophical content. It has superlative photography, excellent performances.   Yes, you need to pause and think to understand the concept and content of movie.

 

 

 

 The profound thought behind the movie is, if a ships all wooden planks as and when they get spoiled, are replace one by one during its span of life, will this become different ship in the end?

Dhwani was more excited than Kashyap on seeing his name on wide screen. She immediately called me from ‘PVR theater’.  For brief tailor, just click the link for Tailor.

8st July 2013 to 14th July 2013: [Comedy King, Kapil Sharma]

Travelling is in blood of Dodeja’s. Kanyalal-Lokram-Karamchand-Ramchand-Madhavdas. Out of these five brothers 1^st four brothers and their children are found of travelling, without exception.
Lokram Dodeja’s fourth generation i.e. Akshay-Kashyap-Sharat are all very much enthusiastic for any kind of trip. Our travelling stars were hidden behind the clouds for, quiet some time, i.e. first decade of 21^st Century. Since 1998, our trips got restricted to Lonavala-Pune, which as per current situation is backyard of Mumbai. Only trip worth mentioning is thanks to Mummy, trip to Amarnath in 2005. Then our time changed for better in 2010. To prove this, here is picture of Camera Bag, which tag’s itself every time it goes out with any family member.

Lali & Family left for Bali and will return on Sunday. This is third free ‘AT’ trip. In 2011, Akshay-Muskan went to Istanbul. Then it was turn of Kashyap-Dhwani to Mauritius in 2012. Now Lali & family are off to Bali. Travelling stars are looking favorably. People, it is time to plan for repeat 1992 trip. All say Amen.

Dhwani conducted a workshop for young children, telling them about good touch – bad touch. As the families are getting small, these kind of problems, ‘child abuse’ etc are surfacing. Perpetrators’ believe they can get away with such kind of behavior. I believe lots of them really do, hence need for such workshops.

I was surprised to know that a ‘Maharashtrain’ wedding ceremony takes just 15 minutes to get over! Kashyap on 11^th shot one such wedding for MIM, in Mumbai.

 Muskan and Akshay are enjoying Exbhition Sale at Noble Retail. From last Friday we have put up Pundal and big banners, announcing upto 60% discount sale. We are calling this as single shop Exbhition! Depending upon response, this will be extended, if required.

On Sunday, Akshay-Muskan & myself returned from store late, pass 10.30. Normally I sleep around 10 O’clock. But it was past my sleeping time, I was not sleepy, so I sat down with all four kids of the family for chit chat. Kash’s friend Shawn had come to meet Kashyap along with his two Bangladeshi Girl friends.

Kashyap keeps surfing the channels. Suddenly, his figure paused on Colors, our attention was drawn to Kapil Sharma’s new show. Shows format is excellent. Government employees bashing in Kapil style, a small over the top, skit with ridiculous characters and story line. Then celebrity guest interview, which is not supposed to be taken seriously, it was Prabhu Deva this time.  I highly recommend this show to drive away sad smiles and crease tense brows. On our part, we had a laugh riot, all of us, including our guests! And to make matters easy, here is youtube link.

1st July 2013 to 7th July 2013 : Luck By Chance:

Monday:  Few observations.

•  Today is 1^st day of our third rent agreement extension. Our landlady, Mrs. Furnandis had told us in clear terms that you will have to vacate the flat after three years, it was in 2009. But we continue to live here, the place where Bindiya and Muskan desperately want to live.
• Noble Retail hit the highest sales mark and unexpected sales for one day.
•  Noble Printers had very bad April-May. We had fixed stiff target for June, with expectation of reaching 90% level. We touched 105% today!
• Liquidity crunch, which had become standard issue in Noble, has taken back seat for today and tomorrow. It is a great relief.
• AT has new manager and after meeting him, I feel we had bright future with him. He appears to be aggressive person, which can be very helpful for growth.
• Comfy has agreed to all our conditions and wants to appoint us as C&F.
•  TH also has new manager and again we meet him.
•  Noble Retail extension completed today.
•   I met a person, if things click with him, lots of major changes expected.

All are positive news related with business. Is it play of planets? Is this mere a chance occurrence? Or is this just routine, coincidents happening on one particular day? You tell me.

Thursday: This can be termed as socialization day. Akshay & Muskan made round trip to Mumbai. Objective was to do some business meeting with Vashu Mutherja & Imran Khan and have a social visit at Bandra. Ashish has gone through major successful operation. Amar had done Angiography, so Akshay & Muskan visited them & returned late at night.

I have to go and meet Karandiker, our old CA at Tilak Road. I realized I was in Peth area after 8 months! So I visited 1306, met Vinay-Narendra-Maya. And to my surprise V K Munyal was sitting in office! And finally I met Brijesh also. Thus, this day a turned into socialization day.

This is very nice Mahek story as told by Dhwani. Mahek touched a warm cocker and said to Neha, ‘Mumma, Chatka Laga.’ Now Neha being efficient mother told her maid, ‘From now on, keep all things on platform, far from the corner, near to wall as Mehak may touch again.’ Before she can turn and say something consoling to Mehak, she tells her in elderly person attitude. “Mom, don’t ever discuss my problems with maid!”
